Greetings from your 2023 Loveland Pickleball Club board!
We’ve had our first board meeting and want to begin by thanking all of you who responded to our survey. We also want you to know that WE HEAR YOU! Below are the results and our thoughts for each category. Please keep in mind we are in our beginning stages and may not have all the answers.
The goal of LPC Board is to spend all annual dues on Court Reservations from May through September, and we hope these events result in community building and friendship development. All other club activities rely on volunteer assistance and/or added fees. Please let us know if you can volunteer your time and talent to support skill development, tournaments, or other activities!
A majority (63%) of respondents enjoy playing during work hours and a fairly large number (37%) can only play outside of work hours. The LPC Board recognizes this. We currently reserve most court times from 8-10 AM. We also reserve court time on Monday evenings for our Ladder League and Thursday evenings for PickleSkills. For 2023, we have added court reservations on Sunday mornings at Osborn. We will continue to study this issue and add indoor play during off-work hours.
69% of respondents are seeking indoor options. Based on your response, the LPC Board has started working on indoor options and will announce some affordable indoor events soon! Because we spend all current funds on outdoor courts, indoor options can only be offered at an added cost to our members. We will start with Pay Per Session and we plan to offer upgraded membership once we gauge participation and identify adequate indoor courts.
More than half of respondents are of average skill, while smaller groups identified themselves as beginner, or advanced. Based on your feedback, the LPC Board will be working on ways to cater more specifically to these three groups. Lower skilled players are seeking mentorship and skill development. Players of all skills are seeking events matching their skill level. To help with this, please update your skill level in your profile on the LPC website.
Slightly more than half of our respondents are 65 or over, while the smaller half is under 65. We had numerous comments asking for tournament play to be separated by age. The LPC Board will be working toward this goal, creating a division for players 65 and over, and a different division for those 64 or less. Our ability to separate by age brackets depends heavily on the number of players in each age bracket registered for the event.
Approximately half of respondents offered additional comments which are summarized here:
To accomplish these goals for all of you we are going to need help from volunteers. If you feel you have the time, please reach out to any of the board members. You can also enhance your experience with LPC by using our member list along with PlayTime Scheduler.
Thank you again for your participation!

RESERVED COURTS AT MEHAFFEY FOR 3.75+ PLAY
We've received a lot of feedback about needing courts for our most advanced members. This month, we're running a trial to see if we have enough advanced player interest to justify these reservations. Two courts are reserved at Mehaffey from 8 - 10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday, September 6th. These additional courts are not in the published court reservation schedule.
Beginning September 3rd, you can reserve SIMON by contacting Debbie Jostes. Thank you Debbie!

We need subs for all levels for Ladder League. Ladder League is played on Monday evenings from 6 - 8 p.m. at Osborn Park in Loveland. Delay Play at Sunnyside Until 8:00 a.m.
The Loveland Pickleball Club is requesting that pickleball play at Sunnyside not start until 8:00 am, including court cleanup with leaf blowers. Many of the older homes do not have air conditioning and leave their windows open at night. Recently, the noise has started before 7:00 am.

LPC COURT RESERVATION POLL RESULTS
Thank you to everyone who took the time to answer our poll on court reservations. A summary of the poll results and the submitted comments can be found here.
Based on the comments we received, 2 additional courts have been reserved on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 - 10 am at Centennial for Advanced play starting in July.
Please take the time to read through the summary!
Tyler Vann and Kyle Yates are conducting 4 clinics next month with each clinic open to 16 people. You can sign up for one of these clinics today on our website in the Events Calendar.
For more information, see the clinic flyer.
If we are unable to fill all these spots with LPC members, we will open the clinics to the public.
PickleSkills has been a great success again this year! For those of you participating in PickleSkills, please show up at 5:30 to help set up nets and courts and get ready to play. We need to make sure all players are checked in on their nets before 6:00 so we keep the drills running on time!
Once again, July Ladder League filled up in 24 hours. We will send out an announcement when the August Ladder League Registration is about to open. Put a reminder in your calendar to sign up the day registration opens if you want to play.
Also remember that Loveland Parks and Recreation offers Ladder Leagues on Saturday mornings at Osborn. You can find additional information in the Summer 2022 Activity Guide.
UPDATE YOUR SELF-RATING

LOCK YOUR CAR AND SECURE YOUR VALUABLES
During the LPC Spring Mixer at Mehaffey Park, 3 vehicles were broken into and purses were stolen. Unfortunately, this also happened last year at both Centennial Park and Spring Canyon Park.
Always lock your vehicles! If you must leave valuables in your vehicle, keep them out of sight or inside locked compartments.
The Loveland Police Department was notified of the break-ins.
RESERVERD COURTS FOR LPC MEMBERS
Please remember that LPC reserves courts every week so that LPC members can drop by and play. The court reservations are on our website. Each reservation has skill level recommendations, though all members are welcome. Please be kind and inclusive to others!
We'd appreciate it if you'd sign up on Playtime Scheduler for the LPC reserved sessions you attend. Sign up data helps us make better decisions on reservation times, locations, and skill levels. Thank you in advance!
In the next few days, we're going to send out a poll to all our active LPC members about your experiences with our reserved courts and play times. Your answers influence future court scheduling!
LPC ADMINISTRATOR FOR PLAYTIME SCHEDULER
One of our LPC members very generously gave LPC a Playtime Scheduler Power User account so that we can post our reserved play times. We're looking for a volunteer to administer Playtime Scheduler for the LPC. Please respond to this email if you are interested.
