WILD APRICOT
The Club has subscribed to a new Membership Management System called Wild Apricot. There are quite a few things that Apricot will do for the administration of the club, most of which will be in the background that you won’t really see. Apricot will allow us to communicate more efficiently with members, our website will be updated and ad-free and we’ll be able to do event scheduling through it.
Ladder league, tournaments, PickleSkills, etc. will all use Apricot to ease planning and scheduling. You’ll be able to sign up for these events online, without having to do it by email.
Perhaps the most important change for all members will be the ability to renew your membership online and to pay your annual dues by credit card. No more having to print the form and mail it along with a check (although you’ll still be able to do that if you choose).
A HUGE thank-you to Cheryl Anderson, Sandy Thayer and Jeff Ludwig for all of their work in getting this major project up and running!!
ANNUAL DUES
As you have probably heard, court reservation costs will be going up each of the next three years. The 2021 cost per hour is increasing 20% from 2020. We also intend to once again increase the court times that we will be reserving for Club play in 2021.
The Board has worked on our annual budget and an on-going three-year plan and has determined that we will need to increase our dues. For 2021, our dues will increase to $30 per person for the year.
Your current membership expires on December 31 and the new rate is effective January 1. Jeff is working very hard to getting all of the details worked out in Wild Apricot to send an invoice to all club members along with the link to allow you to process your renewal online.
INDOOR PLAY
There are still some issues to be resolved, but indoor play is once again available on a limited basis.
At this time, Chilson will only have play available of Fridays. 2 courts with a maximum of 16 people from 5:30am – 3:30pm. All players must wear face coverings at all times. I have attached a document describing the process to sign up to play.
Indoor play should be starting at Power2Play soon. I’ll send an update along to everyone as soon as we have the final information.
OUTDOOR PLAY
There are still a lot of days that outdoor play is very possible. Play is much more informal and the Club does not reserve any court times. You can set up your own group or you can use Playtime Scheduler to assist in figuring out when people are playing. For those of you that may not have used Playtime Scheduler in the past, I’ve included Mark Pugh’s instructions on how to set up the free app.

MISC. NOTES
- Brand-new Franklin X-40 outdoor balls are still available. I just got in an order for another 200 balls, so we have lots! Still $10 for a bag of five balls.
- Simon will be again be available for checkout soon. The Cameron Peak fire got a little too close to home last week and I shipped him off to Ft. Collins for safekeeping. Hopefully the weather will give the firefighters the help they need to get this under control and I can bring him back home. Just because it’s the off-season, doesn’t mean that you can’t practice your game!
See you on the courts!
Bob
